All the country with the surroundings was devastated. He suffers from misery with the S and is afflicted by the plague of 1668 which removes great number of its inhabitants. Potteries, coffins hones Gallo-Roman S of it on his territory and in the garden of the school which is certainly on an old cemetery. Stone a stele, end of the 6th century, with a Latin inscription was discovered in 1894, by the teacher of the time.

This discovery makes it possible to think that Castel existed and had some importance under feudality. The only name of Manor house seems to indicate that a castle existed there. The local tradition wants that it was located in a rather high place of the territory: " Caurel" , but no vestige confirms this version. The country had initially lords of its name (S) before belonging to the families of Créquy and Sarcus. There is no trace of the wars of religion. In 1636, boatmen of Manor house, Hailles and Thennes set fire to part of the provisioning of the Spanish and thus contribute to the resumption of Corbie. The Roturier S have all the grounds which are not to the chaplains and to the laic lords, Thierry, lords of Dours, but must pay the Dîme S with the priest, the drudgery S and Champar S with the lords. As of 1694, it is made mention with the files of a laic clerk (teacher).
