In 1965 Morane-Saulnier becomes a subsidiary company of South-Aviation (become since Aérospatiale then EADS). The construction of the Rally (its other name) is sub-contracted by EADS Socata, a rather recent company.

More than 3500 Rally were built and sold in 65 countries.

Technical description

The Rally profits from imposing shutters Fowler, i.e. camber flaps which move back.

Its wings are also equipped with nozzles of leading edge; when speed indicated reached the 65 kt, they are returned automatically.

The version training aircraft to learn how to control MS880, the MS880B or Rally 100T, even ST (new name) is equiée of an engine of 100 horses, which does not make it very fast. The voyage is not its vocation.

The Rally can contain 4 people theoretical but its performances of carrying do not make it possible to carry some as much on board. One can take 3 in condition of them of not having made the full front one, if not the pilot and the instructor alone can take seat there. But there too, it is not a problem because instruction with 4 is seldom made.

The more advanced versions of the Rally as the MS892/893 from 100 to 180 horses allows the towing of Planeur S.

They are called Commodore according to Morane-Saulnier, Gaillard or Galérien in version Socata and have in addition to one more powerful engine, a more solid structure and can be used to travel.
