Carolles is a common French, located in the department of the Manche and the area Basse-Normandie. Carolles is located at the south of the peninsula of Cotentin, in bay of the Mount St Michel.

Geography

Carolles is a commune located on the west coast of the Cotentin, with the northern limit of bay of the Mont Saint-Michel. Originally country, it turned to the sea with the arrival of balneal tourism.

The blue Granite of Carolles is used in the area to make the framings of the openings of the houses (doors and windows), whereas the walls are built with granite of Vire.

  • Body of guard of the 18th century (called Vauban or watchtower cants) located at the north of bay of the Mount-Saint-Michel intended to supervise the sea.
  • Yew 754 years (the age of the tree is specified on a sign, but this one is not regularly updated).
  • Church of the 16th century with:
    • a tower with a roof as a bâtière;
    • a porch of the 17th century;
    • a Toit careens of it boat reversed.
