Monza

Monza is a city Italy of approximately 120.000 inhabitants in the Province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy, area of the Plaine of Po.

Geography

It is the third town of Lombardy and the most important administrative center, ecomomic and industrialist of the Brianza area. It is located at about fifteen kilometers in the North-East of Milan.

Monuments

The Cathédrale of Monza contains the iron crown of Lombardy, supposed to contain a nail of the Crucifixion. It was built between 13th and the 15th century. Its black and white marble frontage was built at the 14th century by Matteo da Campione.

Sports

The town of Monza is especially known for its Grand Prix of Formule 1, GP of Italy, which is held on the circuit Autodromo Nazionale di Monza , in the park of Monza, a park of 800 hectares surrounded by 18 km of walls.
