Montrichard

Montrichard is a common French, located in the department of Loir-et-Cher and the area Center.

Geography

Commune at the edge of the Expensive between Turns and Vierzon. Mixed landscape: vineyards, wood, breeding and cereals. Lives inter alia tourism in the zone of the Loire ch4ateau: with less than 20 km of Chenonceaux, Amboise, Montpoupon, Valençay and Chaumont. Valley punt of Expensive in the south, slope calcareous (Tuff) in north, with specific habitats troglodytic S of the Région Centers, of the cellars with wine and mushroom beds.

History

Characteristic one pronounces MON-TRI-CHARD is not MONT-RI-CHARD. Its square Donjon attests the presence of a castle of the 12th century, whose construction is granted to the count of Anjou Foulques Nerra. Several houses with Half-timbering S.

; Church Notre-Dame de Nanteuil: Chorus with polygonal Apse arched in Bottom of furnace, covering Transept and semicircular Absidiole S arched in half dome 12th century, single nave of four spans 13th century, frontage and Gate 15th century, two superimposed vaults 15th century with the angle of the Nave and the northern brace, two stone out-work staircases, an interior staircase; tables, and 18th centuries. The architect Anatole de Baudot carried out work of restoration there.

Pharmaceutical laboratory : One of the 3 French production sites of the Laboratories Boiron (the world leader of homeopathy) is in Montrichard. It employs 120 worker. It is an old site of laboratories DOLISOS (old n°2 of homeopathy).

a pretty trompe-l'oeil of the painter Armand Langlois on the frontage of the cinema of the city.
the city is quoted in the film Arrête me if you can , like place of source of Paula, the mother of the swindler, which would have married an American soldier at the time of the release, and like place of the arrest the swindler, which is inaccurate; the turning which represents the place of the church of Montrichard has in fact carried out on the Royal Place of the town of Quebec (Canada).
