Montreuil-Juigné is a common French, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the area Pays of the Loire.

Its inhabitants are called Montreuillais.

The common one obtained 3 flowers with the prize list 2006 of the Concours of the cities and flowered villages.

History

Montreuil-Juigné was born in 1973 from fusion from Montreuil-Belfroy and Juigné-Bucket, 2 common to traditional vocations agricultural and wine.

Its history was marked by the installation of a wire-drawing mill on the dam Montreuil-Belfroy (approximately 100 years ago), then that of the factory Pechiney whose significant development in the years 1950 and 1960 led to a fast Urbanisation commune. The proximity of the town of Angers then came to reinforce this phenomenon still in progress today.

Geography

The city is located on the Mayenne, with the limit of the Armorican Massif and the Paris basin. Its high part makes up of Schiste S, the low grounds of Alluvion S.

Angers is to approximately 10 km in south-east.

The Climat is moderate there, undergoing at the same time a continental effect and a oceanic influence. The temperatures remain moderate throughout the year.
