The Montoneros are a group of Argentinian ultra-radicals of Extreme-left. This Argentinian armed organization developed actions of major intensity between the years 1970 and 1977. Its main aims were: destabilization and rout of the military dictatorship which reigned since 1966, and the return of the Perón general. They will try to arrive to their objective by tactics of urban guerilla warfare. During the first years of their existence, they were supported by important popular sectors. Montoneros were finally destroyed by the military government in place in 1976.
