Montlevon is a common French, located in the department of the Aisne and the area Picardy.

Geography

The commune of Montlevon is to 80 km of Laon (chief town of department). Very wide village, with many convergent valleys, offering many remarkable points of view.

Placed under the protection of saint Martin, this church Romance whose construction would start at the 11th century, and altered with S.

The church is made up of a nave, a chorus and sides finished each one by a absidiole. It shelters a statue of the Virgin at polychrome 13th century. One will also notice a way of cross in relief of very good invoice, but whose certain stations underwent the misdeeds of the years.

The nave and the chorus date from the end of the 11th century and contain interesting primitive capitals.

Montlevon was the seat of a maladrery joined together with the hospital of Castle-Thierry in 1698.

The laundrette of Montlevon was illustrated by the fable of the Fountain the ass and the dog .
