Etymology

Montigny : one thought a long time of a name formed on the Latin name of a person called Montanius or Montinius , but, considering the frequency of the Toponyme (60 communes in France), it seems preferable to consider a derivative of Latin: Mons or montis = mountain, top.

Montfort : this name derives from Latin: assembles , montis , or Mons = mount or top and of forti = extremely or strengthened.

Villiers : this name derives from Latin villa , who indicated in theory part of a field or a distant house. This term very quickly took the direction of hamlet.

Fatin : this name could derived from Latin faustus or fastus = happy, thrives, favorable.
