  • Theater of the Battle of the Marne
Mentioned with the 12th century, " Mons Ionis". Church with the collation of the abbot of Saint-Faron of Meaux. Firm of the Hospital (hospital in the past). Priory Benedictine of Saint-Michel in dependence of the abbot of Saint-Faron. The first blow of gun of the battle of Ourcq was drawn there on September 4th, 1914. Engagements in 1914. Castle 18th century on a height, built on the basis of strong castle old, having belonged to the philanthropist. Stele of the 1st blow of gun. Rule of Monthyon by Bosio (in front of the church), this castle belonged to Jean-Claude Brialy; it made gift with the town hall of Meaux of it. This gift was prone to polemic within the Municipal council, between those which were so that it integrates the inheritance of the commune and others knowing how much the maintenance of a castle costs. Jean-Claude Brialy even mentioned in an interview that all its economies passed in the repair of the building.
