Montgomery is the capital of the State of the Alabama, with the the United States of America. It is the second most populated city Alabama, with 200.983 inhabitants (2005) and 397.961 for the whole of the urban surface. It is also chief town of the Comté of Montgomery. Montgomery is located on the Alabama river, in the south-power station part of the State.
The town of Montgomery is known for its role in the American Civil War and with the Civil Rights Movement , with in particular Boycott of the network of Bus of Montgomery celebrates it.
Montgomery was built-in municipality in 1819 and accepted the name of the general Richard Montgomery, who perishes in the Guerre of Independence of the United States of America at the time of an attempt to seize the Quebec.
February 1st 1955: In a bus of the city, the dressmaker Rosa Parks refused to yield her seat to a White. A boycott of the buses by Martin Luther King will be followed from there.
