Montgiscard

Montgiscard (occitan: Montgiscard ) is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Garonne and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Its inhabitants is called Montgiscardais.

Geography

Commune located in full heart of the Lauragais, to 20 km in the south-east of Toulouse. Montgiscard gets a foothold in the valley of the Hers-Death and climbs on the face is south-Toulouse slopes, out of Right Bank of the the Garonne. It is mainly served by RN113 (Toulouse Carcassonne) and the Canal of the South passes near the bottom of the city, on the territory of the commune. Commune with dominant rural, Montgiscard forms all the same part of the urban surface of Toulouse as well as its zone of employment.

The church of Montgiscard (15th century) was classified historic building by decree of November 18th, 1926. The bell-tower (S) was built by Dominique Bachelier (1530-1594); it is about a wall-belfry at the horizontal top, with machicolation, six campanological bays and two turrets.
