Montgeroult
Montgeroult is a common French, located in the department of the Val-d'Oise and the area Île-de-France. Its inhabitant (E) S are Montgeraldien () S.
Geography
The village is located at hillside of the valley of the Viosne, small river of the French Vexin.
The commune is bordering on: Cormeilles-in-Vexin, Boissy-l' Aillerie, Courcelles-on-Viosne and Ableiges.
It is served by a Gare ('' Montgeroult - Courcelles '') of the line Paris - Gisors-Junction ().
Heraldic
History
The origin of the name comes from the Latin Mons , mount and of the anthroponyme Germanic Gerold; " Gerulfi" mount; or " Gerold" mount; , of the name of a warrior frankly buried in the village.
The village is set up in parish depending on the Abbaye of Saint-Denis in 1071. It had a monastery until its destruction in 1599. Jean de Donon, general inspector of the Building industries of the King, bought it in 1573 with Claude d' Ailly and made build the current castle (beginning of the 17th century) with the site of that of the 16th century. The seigniory is the property in 1683 of Antoine Féron, govern the Parlement of Paris.

Monuments and places of visit
the church Our-Lady-with-the Assomption (11th century-16th century) was the church of the monastery Benedictine before becoming the church of the village.
the castle was built under the reign of Louis XIII. He comprises three capped houses of a high slate roof. The projecting central house is preceded by a staircase with double revolution on the frontage. On the right, the large square house, and in the park, the orangery of the castle, were added by Louis Chevalier in 1704.
