Montbonnot-Saint-Martin

Montbonnot-Saint-Martin is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

Extending from the plain of Isere to the slopes of the Chartreuse, Montbonnot can be divided into two principal parts.

  • Montbonnot the top corresponds to the upper part of the city, above the town hall. The town hall and its park dominate the valley of the Grésivaudan and offer a unspoilable view on the chain of Belledonne. This panorama was useful for one of the last scenes of the film " Hussard on the roof " , where one discovers the valley of snow-covered Grésivaudan and Belledonne.

  • Montbonnot bottom accommodates to some extent Inovallée.
  • Routes transportation

One passes from a part to the other by the way of Souchière, pedestrian path, or by two roads, the road the Soft one and the Saint Martin's day way then the RN90 (after a passage in the town of Meylan)

History

  • Modern history

Montbonnot bottom experienced an economic development without precedent in the years 2000. Prolonging Inovallée de Meylan (then named ZIRST), many companies settled, like Sun for example. The face of Montbonnot bottom then completely changed: from a rural landscape, one passed in a few years to a landscape of modern industrial park strewn with recent dwellings.
