Montagut I Oix

Montagut I Oix is a Catalan commune of comarque of the Garrotxa. It is in the Natural park of the volcanic Zone of Garrotxa.

History

Formerly called Montagut LED Fluvià, because of the river which crosses it, the commune of Montagut includes since 1972 the old territory of Oix . Official name became thus Montagut I Oix starting from November 15th 2002.

Geography

The commune occupies an mountainous area. Its limits are: in north Albanyà, Camprodon and the department of the the Eastern Pyrenees; in the west the Valley of Bianya; in the south Sant Jaume de Llierca and Sant Joan the Font; in the east Argelaguer and Tortellà.

The Puig del Comanegra dominates the communal territory with: 1558 meters of altitude. August 1st
