Mononychus punctum-album
Mononychus punctum-album is a Charançon whose larva lives at the expense of seeds of the water iris Iris pseudacorus .
The standard species Mononychus pseudacori is black with a white point; the species presented here under the name “punctum-album” is rather brown. This insect has only one claw with the tarsus instead of the two usual ones, from where the name of the kind which means “only one nail”.
