Monogant

The monogant is one of the many types of obstacles used in the plays of Bondage.

The invention of monogant, under the term English of individual glove , is frequently allotted to the draftsman and to British photographer John Willie.

The monogants are usually manufactured in Cuir, even if other appreciated matters of the Fétichiste S are used on the occasion, like the élasthanne or the latex even the Jean.

Monogant with the form of a Conical Sleeve or of a handle closed at an end. The glove imprisons together the two arms of the carrier behind its Dos, of the end of the Doigt S until the Biceps. Monogant typically is closed by lacing or a slide and often reinforced by a whole of Sangle S on the level of the Poignet S and Coude S.

In order to prevent the carrier from releasing its arms of monogant by distorsions, additional straps come to reinforce the unit: the most frequent combination consists of a pair of straps/straps which leave the top of the glove (against the back), pass on the shoulders, then under the armpits to come to fix itself in loops located in top of the glove with dimensions external. These straps are often crossed between the scapulas or on the chest in order to prevent which they do not slip of the shoulders; the position with crossing on the chest presents however risks if the straps slip while going up towards the neck of the carrier.

Other combinations exist: a strap connecting the straps on the chest; a strap forming a strap in form of Y instead of a cross pair; finally, only one strap which leaves the sleeve, goes up along the back and of the neck and will be connected to a collar. The end of monogant, on the level of the fingers often has a ring in the shape of D making it possible to attach the arms in position of estrapade or bearing, or even until before belt, while passing a strap of the end of the glove and by the crotch.

Because of the constraint extrème created by the position of the arms, the port of one monogant can cause lesions with the least resistant fabrics of the shoulders such as the cartilages, as well as problems of circulation on the level of the hands. Only the most flexible people can cover them one prolonged duration; this is why the monogants are used for their spectacular aspect in artistic tying up, than in the true plays BDSM.

On the other hand, for those and those which have the sufficient flexibility to support to have the arms tightened behind the back up to the point where elbows touch, monogant it is an obstacle more comfortable than cords tightened in a position also extrème. In this position, it is however advisable to rigorously take care to avoid the dismantling of the shoulders.

There exist many variations from monogant, such as for example a sleeve which blocks the arms of the bicepses to the wrists, thus allowing a certain freedom of movement of the fingers, or one monogant built-in a Vêtement (Blouson, Combinaison or dress) the place of the normal sleeves.
