Monocycle street

The Monocycle street (also simply known among the monocyclists as street ) is one of the very recent developments of the Monocycle. The goal of the sport is to use obstacles which they natural, urban or are especially conceived like pavements, handrails, staircases or benches to make figures there. Two elements can characterize the practice: technique and style. The technique consists to send largest rotations, to jump the largest staircases, grinder the longest rails, etc The style depends on the flow (fluidity) of the monocyclist: in the way in which it can connect the combinations of figures in a fluid and natural way. For the street , the majority of the monocylists prefer to roll with monocycles of trial 20" because they facilitate the jumps and are manoeuvrable. However, some use also the least conventional size of wheel of 24".

Competition of Monocycle street

In spite of some debates to know so yes or not Monocycle street as a discipline was wall for its own competition, the 13 {{are}} Championnats of the World of Monocycle (August 2006 July) saw being held the first official test of “Street freestyle”. Xavier Collos (France) took down the world title.

In France it is in Nantes at the time of the Coupe de France of Monocycle in October 2006 that it is held the first official test of Street.En the abscence of Xavier Collos it is the young person Romain Bouschbacher (14 years) http://streetriding.skyrock.com/ who took down the national title.

Usual figures of street

Unispins

; Unispin 90: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 90 degrees and réatterit on the wheel in position bond on the roue ; Unispin 180: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 180 degrees and réatterrit on the video pedals ; Unispin 270: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 270 degrees and réatterrit on the wheel in position of bonds on the roue. The weather can then be a transition towards crab or a unispin 270 and fall down on the video pedals (the unispins 180 of tire tire are also possible) ; Unispin 360: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 360 degrees and réatterrit on the video pedals ; Unispin 450: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 450 degrees and réatterrit on the wheel in position of bonds on the roue. This figure can be realized since the pedals towards the tire or of the tire to the video pedals ; Unispin 540: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 540 degrees and réatterrit on the video pedals ; Unispin 630: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 630 degrees and réatterrit on the wheel in position of bonds on the roue ; Unispin720: The monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals, makes turn the monocycle of 720 degrees and réatterrit on the video pedals ; Smallspin: A smallspin is carried out while starting with the saddle in front. The monocyclist makes simultaneously a unispin 180 and a rotation of 180°. This figure is also known like 180/180 (the monocycle and its monocycle turns in the same video direction *remarque: Compared to the ground, the monocycle traverses 360°. ; Bigspin: A bigspin is carried out while starting with the saddle in front. The monocyclist makes simultaneously a unispin 360 and a rotation of 180°. One refers sometimes to this figure as a 180/360 (the unispin and rotation are done in the same direction) video *remarque: Compared to the ground, the monocycle turns of 540° ; Hugespin: A hugespin is carried out while starting with the saddle in front. The monocyclist makes simultaneously a unispin 540 and a rotation of 180°. *remarque: Compared to the ground, the monocycle turns of 720° ; Inward Unispin: It is about a unispin 360 with a rotation of 180° but in the opposite direction. Some launch it with the saddle in front of, others with the saddle inside. video *remarque: Compared to the ground the monocycle turns of 180° ; X-up: A x-up it is when the monocyclist manages to make a unispin 180 in a direction then another in the other direction before falling down on the pedals. ; Sidespin: unexplainable… look at: by Kevin McMullin

Rotations

; Jump twist 180: A jump twist 180 much more known under current name 180 is an air movement or the monocyclist just like jumps and carries out his monocycle a rotation of 180° before falling down. In the case of a normal walk, the monocyclist is found behind. ; Jump twist 360: A Saut twist 360 is a a little odd name to indicate one 360. The monocyclist jumps, just like carries out a rotation of 360° his monocycle before falling down. He finds himself in the same direction as before leaving the ground. ; Jump twist 540: A Jump twist 540 more commonly called 540, is an air movement during which the monocyclist and his monocycle carry out a rotation of 540°. The monocyclist falls down back with his original direction. ; Shifty: A Shifty is an air movement where the monocyclist jumps, makes a rotation of 90° of sound monocycle by keeping the feet on the pedals in a direction then in the other before falling down. This figure is rather open since one can turn in any direction and the quantity of “twist” is especially a suggestion. ; Lookback: A Lookback is enormous a shifty or the rotation of the monocycle of 180°, is seen for the first time in the " Video Callout! " of Shaun Johanneson (August 2006).

Varials

; Varial: A varial is inside a small spin but started with the saddle (with a hand thus) video ; Bodyvarial: The monocycle remains motionless whereas the monocyclist jumps while releasing the pedals and carries out a rotation of 180° before falling down on the pedals. It is in fact a unispin 180 compound with one 180 in the opposite direction although the name evokes only the movement of the body. video ; Fullvarial: A fullvarial is a bigspin launched with the saddle inside. video ; 360varial: It is the combination of a unispin 180 and one 360 launched with the saddle inside

Flip tricks

; crankflip: The figure starts with a jump, then the monocyclist pushes on the front pedal to launch a complete rotation of the nose gear wheel giving the feet on the pedals and replating. This figure was carried out for the first time by Mike Clark of Washington in the first half of 2004. Since, many variations of the crankflip were invented and carried out by monocyclists of the whole world. video ; flip 180: A crankflip with a rotation of 180°. video ; doubleflip: Similar that a crankflip but with two complete rotations of the wheel. Replated for the first time by Shaun Johanneson of North Dakota during the turning of the video of monocycle extrème Defect (2005). video ; tripleflip: Similar that a crankflip but with 3 complete rotations. In 2007 this figure was still replated only by Shaun Johanneson and Arthur Charon. ; backflip: As a crankflip but the wheel carries out its revolution backwards. video ; doubleback: It is a backflip with 2 complete rotations. This figure was returned for the first time by Alex Toms " Tomsey" from Sydney, Australia on March 2nd, 2006. video ; tripleback: It is triple backflip . It was replated at present only by Mike Swarbrick. ; sexchange: It is the combination of a crankflip and a bodyvarial . This figure was replated for the first time not Shaun Johanneson on August 8th, 2005. video ; sexchange double flip: It is about a sexchange with a double crank flip ; lateflip: It is as a crankflip except that the monocyclist does not start to make turn the nose gear wheel being at least at the top of his jump. video ; hickflip: A crankflip combined has a 180unispin begun saddle in front of, replated saddle in front. This figure holds its name of Kelly " The Hick" Hickman of Oklahoma. (This figure was invented by Shaun Johanneson, but at summer named in the honor of Kelly) video ; hick double flip: It is about a hick flip with a double crank flip ; donkeykick: The monocycle change so as to find a foot pressed on the wheel and the other on the fork, then it jumps and pushes with its foot on the wheel to make him make a full rotation backwards before falling down on the pedals. video ; monkey kick: It is about a crank flip, departure the 2 feet on the tire (one of each with dimensions of the fouche) launched starting from the tire and replated on the pedals. ; monkey car: It is the same departure as the monkey Kick except that once the crank flip launched starting from the tire, it is necessary to replate on the tire in the same position as that of the departure. This figure was replated for the first time by Arthur Charon in Game Street. video ; inward small flip: A inward unispin combined with a crankflip . Also called inward flip when it is carried out of saddle inside with saddle inside. video ; outflip: A crankflip combined with a unispin 180 begun saddle inside replated saddle outside. video ; inflip: A crankflip combined with a unispin 180 begun saddle inside replated saddle inside. ; outbackflip: A backflip combined with a unispin 180 inside with outside. video ; varialflip: This one is a varial with a crankflip , the first in the world to replate it was Sabin Arditty of Washington on July 21st, 2005. ; fullvarialflip: It is a fullvarial with a crankflip ; treyflip: A crankflip with a unispin 360 . ; fifthflip: A crankflip with a unispin 540 . ; double variations: A built-in doubleflip with another figure of flip. For example a doubleflip sexchange, double hickflip or double varialflip.

Seedlings

The Seedlings can be combined with certain forms of unispin and crankflips .

; Footplant: The monocyclist jumps, one of its feet releases a pedal to go to take a short support on an obstacle and returns on the pedal.

; Footplant up: Even movement that Footplant, but the monocyclist replates on the obstacle, where it took support, or can even replate with the top of the obstacle.

; Wallplant: The monocyclist nimbly rolls in direction of a wall and, while using its inertia and frictions it jumps to go to take support on the wall with a hand and a foot before returning on the monocycle.

; Wallstall: Similar to the wallplant but by posing the 2 feet on the wall.

Grinds

; grind on a ledge: Grinder by putting a pedal ou/et the crank on a ledge and while slipping. For information, a ledge it is an inclined curb. ; grind on a rail: Grinder on rails with round section is more difficult than along ledges. ; bluntslide: To jump to the top of a rail to go the grinder on other side. ; transfer grind: One 180 towards a ledge or a rail which will be grindé behind. ; grinds compounds: These figures imply the combination of a grind and another thing carried out as well in entry or exit of grind as during (a foot, to release saddle). ; over blunt: it is a started slide on a side of a rail, then to wrinkle it rocker on other side of the rail, and finished in bluntslide. ; slide over: it is a slide followed by a jump above the rail and landing on other side without the touch.

Static figures

; Jesus: Appear static par excellence, the monocyclist and the monocycle remains motionless. To keep balance it is advisable to draw aside the arms from where the name of the figure, and to move the basin laterally. ; half warp: Appear on the ground. The monocyclist makes turn his leg around the saddle, sometimes of several turns. ; warp: A stationary figure during which the monocyclist makes pass the saddle around him. To carry out this figure the monocyclist takes support on the cranks by holding the saddle in front of, it raises alternatively the feet to make pass the saddle on one side to the other. This figure was invented per daN Heaton (directing production company of vidéos of monocycle www.sykoproductions.com). video ; rebound of the saddle: To make this figure, it is necessary to leave the feet on the pedals and to violently throw the saddle towards the ground. If it is well done, nothing should break, the saddle should rebound and return. The too rigid carbon fiber saddles its and do not rebound. ; 180 step around: Departure on the cranks and holding the saddle in front of the monocyclist raises a foot to make pass the saddle behind him, simultaneously it takes a step on the wheel and a rotation of 180° (the monocycle does not turn) before falling down on the pedals ; spout: To make a spout (or to release saddle ) it is necessary to have the feet on the cranks, the front foot against the rays. The saddle should then be released: the fork will come to take support on the front foot. Then sharp a microphone rotation of the wheel backwards makes go up the saddle. ; back spout: It is the same thing as a normal spout except that it is necessary to start by holding the saddle behind and to release it on the heel of the back foot. It is a more difficult variation.
