Monique Giroux

Monique Giroux (1963 -) is a Québécois radio presenter . She is known for her daily programs the refrains initially and free Fréquence with the radio of the First chain of Radio-Canada where she actively makes the promotion of the song of language French E.

Biography

Career with the radio

From 1998 to 2003, Mrs. Giroux created and animated on scene more than 40 Cabaret spectacles of the Refrains. The original concept of these evenings, subtitled “of the star to the plumber”, consisted in bringing together artists of all kinds which interpreted for the occasion, successes of large of the French song and Québécois, of Raymond Lévesque with Nougaro, of Clémence to Ferré, of Ferland to Dalida. Nearly three hundred stars, singers, actors and plumber-amateurs of songs took part in it. All agreed with the public to applaud the success of these emission-events. the Best moments of the Cabarets of the Refrains are gathered on two compact disks (years 2001 and 2002). Also, thanks to televised collectings, the televiewers, could benefit from the Cabaret of the Refrains presented to the French network of the television of Radio-Canada like in Europe, via the network TV5.

In the course of the years, Mrs. Giroux and her team knew to borrow new avenues:

the tenant of the 7th , published with the editions Boreal, novel with 40 feathers joined together on its pages as many artists of the French song and Québécois.

Musical biographies and boxes

Among its many achievements, it is important to underline the creation of the box of seven compact disks, Clémence Presqu' integral , gathering the monologs of Clemence DesRochers. To that its collaboration is added to the series Heureux who like Felix , portrait radiophonic of Felix Leclerc one ten hours duration produces in 1997 by Radio-Canada and immortalized in a box of ten compact disks. For this project, Monique also ensures the design of the box. In the same line, in 2002, it realizes in Montreal and Paris for the RFP (public French-speaking Radios), nearly 40 interviews with and around Charles Aznavour. The radiophonic series which results from this, Aznavour… on my life , is diffused at the summer 2003. She also collaborates in the radiophonic series on Diane Dufresne, Folie soft, diffused in October 2003. In June 2004, it is found behind the console and carries out Nice homage with Beau Dommage a two hours emission devoted to the worship group which celebrates its 30 years. In 2005 she Still collaborates in the realization of the disc Aujourd'hui , homage to Aznavour, and signs the design and the setting in scene of All with Vigneault at the end of the world , spectacle of fence of the FrancoFolies of Montreal . Godmother of the box Thousand words of love of Impatient the , organization which comes to assistance of the people suffering from the evil from living, it is initiated in 2005 the Parle project me about love which has took the shape of a box of love letters written as much by known personalities as by anonymities and the Impatient ones. She is the author of Quebec sings , one beautiful book published with the Editions Henri Rivard, delivers published in March 2006.

On several occasions, she collaborated with her colleagues of the RFP (public French-speaking Radios), Dominique Ragheb of RTBF, Philippe Regley of France Blue and Jean-Louis Foulquier of France-Inter. She also collaborated in the drafting for magazines of the song presented by the RFP. At the time of spectacle-rivers produced between 2001 and 2005 it was the stimulating guest of the French national scene the Lamp of St-Nazaire , France, directed by Francoise Houriet.

Price and réccompenses

In November 1999, Monique Giroux received the Grand Prix of the Radio in the categories “Better animation”, like “Better emission”, for a special program on Léo Ferré. A third of these Grands Prix of the Radio was given to him in the category “Better Emission” for the diffusion of a special program entitled Adieu Trenet.

January 20th, 2004, the French government gave to him the medal of Knight of Arts and the letters. By decreeing this distinction to him, the Minister for the culture, Jean-Jacques Aillagon made a point of greeting its contribution to the radiation of the French song and French-speaking person in Canada and abroad.

In May of the same year it is nominated with the title Femme of Merit 2004 , communications category.

In March 2006, the Superior council of the French language gives the to him Ordre of the French-speaking people of America, high distinction, decreed annually, which has the aim of recognizing the merits of people who devote themselves to the maintenance and the blooming of the language of French America

Monique Giroux is member of the Union of the artists (UDA), of the Professional federation of the journalists of Quebec (FPJQ), and of the Committee on the quality of the French language of Radio-Canada, member of the board of directors of Space Felix Leclerc. Also let us mention that it is since 2002 consultant, member of the Academy Charles-Cross-country race.
