Monique David

Monique David (1926-1973) is a French Artist-painter.

Biography

Initiated with painting by her father, Jean Sauvegrain, solicitor, photographer and painter, she worked after the war in the Académie of the Large Thatched cottage (district of Montparnasse to Paris). She was the pupil of Yves Brayer. Its style is marked by strong constructions that its art of the drawing reinforces. This step led it until the abstraction. At the end of its career, it turned to the restoration of tables and the copy of old tables. It left several tables with the oil and of many notebooks of drawing of which inks of the village of Soumensac where it is buried. Monique David was the sister of Jacques Sauvegrain and the woman of André David.
