Monique Barbut

Monique Barbut is the managing director and president of the Fonds for the World Environment (FEM) since the July 15th 2006. She is currently director of Division Technology, Industrie and Economy of the Programme of the United Nations for the environment (PNUE) with Paris.

Career

The Council of the Fonds for the World Environment (FEM) named for one three years period his President and Managing director Mrs Monique Barbut, of French nationality, currently in station with the Program of the United Nations for Environment (PNUE).

As a member of the French delegation, Mrs Barbut had a key function during the financial negotiations of the Sommet of the Earth of 1992 with Rio de Janeiro and played an active role in the creation of FEM.

Mrs Barbut carried out an eminent course in the public service, including one long part at stations varied within the Banque of development of France, the Central Caisse of Economic cooperation, become thereafter French Agence of development (AFD), principal French agency dedicated to the assistance with the foreign countries.

Before joining the PNUE in 2003, it was Executive director charges the unit with it with the activities of the AFD in the Caraïbe, the Pacifique and the Indian Ocean.
