Moniales passionists
The moniales passionists are contemplative nuns.
- They were founded in 1771 by St Paul of the Cross. He chooses Marie Crucifiée Costantini to be first the higher about it. The first monastery was inaugurated in Corneto (today Tarquinia, in Italy) on May 3rd, 1771.
- a second monastery was founded in France in 1872 with Mamers (in the Sarthe).
- a third finally was founded with Lucques (Italy) in 1905. Holy Gemma Galgani played a determining role in this foundation. After the death of Gemmated, the monasteries multiplied quickly in the whole world.
- Their spirituality consists in being held like the Virgin Mary with the foot of the cross to say the love of the men in spite of the crises of the world.
