Money arrow
The Flèche of money was a Train of the the SNCF which connected the Gare of North to Paris, to the airport of Touquet. Its characteristic was that the terminus of the line was directly on the Tarmac of the airport, allowing a direct correspondence between the train and the Avion S coming from London Gatwick (of the Bristol Freighter or the VAT 1-11). There was a quay (always visible) only tardily with the airport, the way arriving directly on the runway at a few meters of the plane. The connection was allowed by a junction on the Ligne Paris - Amiens - Calais.
The service was ensured by oars large course, and came to compete with for the traffic transmanche the ferries and also the Aéroglisseur S of Hoverspeed. The service ceased at the beginning of the Années 1980 (at the end of 1980), before even the opening of the Channel tunnel, overcome by the fall of the air transport charges by direct flights.
The infrastructure today
The junction of Touquet is still in place, except the crossing of the CD940 to the outlet of Canche and the needle on the Amiens line - Boulogne is deposited. On the other hand all the mechanical signals are still places from there, as well as the old station of junction.
