Monchy-the-Valiant knight is a common French, located in the department of the Pas-de-Calais and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
Geography
History
Monchy the Valiant knight constituted an important strategic position close to Arras at the time of the war 14-18. Bloody combat were held there. It is starting from the village that the Germans bombarded Arras and destroyed the Beffroi. However it is on the territory of Monchy that one can see along ex RN 39 (RD939) a terminal marking the limit of advanced German army during the First World War.
