Monato
Monato (what means month in Esperanto) is an independent magazine espérantophone publishing articles relating to the Politique, the Culture, the Science and other topics. It is printed in Belgium and has readers in 65 countries. It is single because it has correspondents in the countries concerned, which thus know well the local situation.
Monato was founded in 1979 by Stefan Maul. The first number appeared the January 15th 1980 and since this date there was a number each month. Monato is the successor of Semajno (what means week in Esperanto) whose it had one number there on September 1st 1978.
There exists in all five versions different of Monato. Most popular and the first is the version paper. One also produces versions audios magazine for the blind men who do not have however access in all the articles. Since 2001, the subscribers can receive all the texts of Monato by email, either in convention-X (ASCII), or in Unicode. In 2003 was created the version pdf. All the texts of the review are also consultable on Internet. The subscribers can consult all the texts whereas the not-subscribers can consult only those of the current year.
