Monastery of Debré Libanos

The monastery of Debré Libanos is a orthodoxe Monastère Ethiopian located at the North-West of the capital Addis-Abeba.

The title of Etchéguié of the Head office of Takla Haymanot which carried formerly the superior of the monastery, considered as the chief of all the monks of the country, is carried today by the catholicos-patriarch, the primacy of the Church.

History

The monastery was founded at the 13th century by Takla Haymanot.
