Monastery Santa Maria di Grottaferrata

The monastery Santa Maria di Grottaferrata is a catholic monastery exarchic of Byzantine rite located close to the town of Rome.

It was founded in 1004, that is to say 50 years before separation between the Church of Occident and the Church of the East in 1054 (Great schism of the East).
