Monastery Alexandre-Nevski

The monastery of the Holy Trinity Alexandre-Nevski , with Saint-Petersbourg, was based by Pierre Large the in 1710 on the Perspective Nevski in Saint-Pétersbourg, to shelter the relics of saint Alexandre Nevski, guard of the new capital of the Russia. These relics will be transferred since Vladimir the August 30th 1724.

The monastery then takes the title of “laure” so that Saint-Pétersbourg has anything to envy neither Kiev, nor with Moscow. It expresses the will of enraciner the new capital in the prestigious one passed of “holy Russia”.
