Monaghan

Monaghan ( Muineachán in Irish) is a city of the Comté of Monaghan in Irish Republic. It is the administrative capital of the county.

Its Irish name comes from the plural of muine , “the small hills”.

Monaghan and its surroundings counted 7.811 inhabitants in 2006.
