Momoros

Momoros , in the Celtic Mythology Gallic, is a Druide, whose name would mean β€œthe swan”.

According to the legend, it is with the king Atepomaros one of the founders of the town of Lyon. Come from north, they stopped on a hill located in edge of the the Saone. According to the instructions of an oracle, they undertake the construction of a city, when the site is invaded by a multitude of corbels. This animal being heralding the presence of the god Lug, it is issued that the city will name β€œ Lugdunum ” i.e. the fortress (or hill) of Lug.

Foot-note : dunon in Gallic (Latin ized in dunum ), dun in Irish and DIN in Welsh, is a toponym running in the Celtic world. It means fortress and secondarily hill.
