Momijigari
Momijigari (ja. 紅葉狩り, literally, “hunting for the sheets of autumn”) is the traditional habit Japan ease to appreciate the beauty of the sheets in autumn, in particular those of the maple of the Japan or the gingko. This habit is with the autumn what Hanami (花見) is in spring: during a few weeks, the maple takes colors going from the yellow to the bright red and the Gingkos relative of yellow. With this occasion, the famous places (in particular of many temples of the area of Kyôto) are invaded by crowd, in particular second Sunday of November at the time of the Arashiyama momiji matsuri (Festival of the sheets of autumn of Arashiyama) created in 1947.
