Molson Canada is the oldest brewery in Canada. It is a unit of business of the Breweries Coors Molson Inc. Molson Canada employs 3500 people through Canada, including breweries with Vancouver, Edmonton, Creemore, Toronto, Montreal and St John' S. Molson manages also two microphone-breweries, in Place GM of Vancouver like in the Center Air Canada of Toronto. Molson will open its seventh brewery with Moncton, Nouveau Brunswick in spring of 2007. Molson holds at present 45% of the market of Canadian beer and dominates the market in Canada.
History
The company was founded in 1786 by John Molson, which makes of it the oldest brewery in America, just as the second older company with the Canada after the Compagnie of Hudson Bay. The first Molson brewery was located along the Fleuve the St. Lawrence at Montreal at the place even where his direction today is found. A Molson family member of the sixth generation, Eric Molson, chairs the board of directors of Molson Coors Brewing Company. The family members of the seventh generation are also implied in the company. The son of Eric, Geoff is vice-president of the Québécoise section of the company. Its other wire, Andre, is member of the board of directors of Molson Coors Brewing Company. Molson remains a emblematic Canadian family. She holds 50% of the trust controlling the amalgamated entity Molson Coors Brewing Company.Today Molson Coors is the fifth brewer in importance in the world. The beer marks specific to Molson on the American northern market include Molson Canadian, Molson Canadian Légère, Molson Ice, Molson Golden, Molson Export, Molson Dry, Molson XXX, Stock Ale, Pilsner, Carling, Tornade, Bohemian and Calgary. With the Brazil, after acquisitions of the years 2000, 2002 and 2006, Molson has partial interests in the marks Marca Bavaria and Kaiser : Since January 2006, Molson has 15% of the shares and seat to the board of directors of Cervejarias Kaiser which brews Kaiser . Molson also brews under license the beers Fosters for the Canadian and American markets. Molson has the rights of setting-in-marcé and of sale for the marks Corona to the east of the Manitoba, the rights of setting-in-market and sale for the products Heineken and Miller to Canada.
