Molex
Molex (corp) () is a manufacturer of electronics components, in particular for the products and systems of electric interconnection and fiberoptic, the switches, the integrated circuits and the tools. Founded in 1938, the company currently covers the six continents and reached a sales figure of more than 2 billion dollars. John Krehbiel, Jr., grandson of the founder, are the largest shareholder of Molex .
Molex provides products OEM in many industries of which the car, machines of office, consumables, industrial plants, the precabling and telecommunications. They offer more: 100000 products with their customers through direct sales or by their distributers.
History
The company started by providing pots of flowers out of industrial plastic called Molex. It then provided connectors for General Electric and others manufacturing starting from the same plastic. More recently, Molex acquired Woodhead Industries what constituted the greatest acquisition of its history.
Molex connectors
In data processing, the name Molex (its true name is: Molex 8981-4P) was taken again to indicate the catch of Power supply used by certain internal peripherals of a microcomputer. In fact, there are two types of connectors usually indicated under the name of Molex . Although the company Molex produces these two types of connectors, it is not the only supplier of this type of material.
