Mole-Saint-Nicolas

Regarded as the paradise of the North-West, Mole St-Nicolas , is a locality located at the extreme western point of the peninsula of the North of Haiti.

History

August 31st 1798 Major Thomas Maintland gave the keys of the city of the Mole to the black General All Saints' day Louverture at the time of the war of the fortifications (Reversal of All Saints' day Louverture).

Economy

Currently the Mole lives to 60% of fishing, 15% of caprine breeding and 25% of agriculture: Pistachio, Corn, Potato, Fig, Banana, Manioc, Coconut, etc

Its natural beauty, its sand beaches ends and white, its broad bay, its careenage, bathed by a clear and bluish sea, its exotic and luxuriant panorama, its streets traced with the colonial chalk line and its vestiges present real tourist potentialities. They are not currently made profitable.
