Moissac
Moissac is a common French, located in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne in area the Midday-Pyrenees.
Its inhabitants is called Moissagais.
Heraldic

The commune is located on the Tarn and the Trunk road 113.
History
In 1622, during a new war of religion, the city is taken by Louis XIII.The commune also known by the name " city of the Chasselas " (of the name of a Grape of table, classifies in AOC, cultivated around by the farmers of the canton) was during the Second world war, a refuge for the important community of the scouts Jews of France (EIF). These last refugees with the Moulin of Moissac remained there during almost where left the occupation thanks in other to the kindness of the municipal authorities and the population.

; Tubular bridge of Cacor:
356 m length, the east of Moissac, it allows the side channel the Garonne to cross Tarn.
The side Channel in the Garonne, crossing the departments of Lot-et-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne, built in 1847, 183 km length. It finds its origin in Toulouse and is completed with Castets-in-Dorthe. It prolonged the Canal of the South which existed between Montpellier and Toulouse. It is used today more for tourism with the batellerie.
; The Museum moissagais:
It is installed in the old home of the abbots, imposing flanked construction of a crenelated tower. Two charts make it possible to appreciate the radiation of the abbey to the Moyen-âge. In the vast object, stair-well related to the history of the abbaye.

The Pilgrimage of Compostelle
Moissac is on the Via Podiensis Pèlerinage of Saint-Jacques-of-Compostelle.One comes from Lauzerte. The next commune is Auvillar, famous for its round market and the Saint-Pierre church.
Leaving Moissac by the Saint-Jacob door, some jacquets crossed the Garonne out of vat with the Point, in direction of the Saint Nicolas's Day priory of the Low register. So of others preferred to cross water with Malause, all found themselves in Auvillar.
The pilgrims

Moissac is one of the rare cities of via Podiensis where one finds mention of a brotherhood of Saint-Jacob. This association appears tardily, in 1523. At that time, mentalities are not any more what they could be in the middle of the Middle Ages, when the fellow-members founded or managed hospitals.
The fellow-member-pilgrims of Moissac seem folded up on themselves. Their essential activities are the celebration of the Saint-Jacob, mass, procession and… banquet, as well as the assistance with the funeral of the fellow-members morts.
Moissac, like Cahors, had remainder a parish dedicated to the apostle.
For five years, an international center of lodging has accommodated more than 5.000 pilgrims per annum. It is about Carmel, historical building flanked in overhang of the city, entirely restored and entrusted for its management by the city to the Alpin club. There they find rooms common or independent, rooms of rest and meeting, services (wash-house), a kitchen equipped common. The price of day is modest.
Of the church Saint-Jacob , medieval, only the name remain. The current building, of the 19th century, was arranged in museum of the craft industry.
