Moishe Postone
Moishe Postone (born in 1942) is professor of history to the Université of Chicago.
He lived with Francfort-sur-le-Main of 1976 to 1982 when he obtained a doctorate in 1983 with the Université Johann Wolfgang Goethe.
He is specialist in the modern Antisémitisme and of the history of the ideas in Europe but its research include also the social theory, in particular the criticism of modernity, the Germany at the twentieth century and the total transformations contemporary.
Philosopher and historian of the German thought, it published Time, Labor and Social Domination in 1993. In this work, it tries to reinterpret the economic theory of Karl Marx by basing the sales leaflet of this one on the value, capital and labor, as central and determining categories of the whole of the analysis marxienne. By taking as a starting point Marxist theories hétérodoxes certain authors of the School of Frankfurt, Postone interprets the economic writings of Marx (in particular the Capital) like the development of a social theory of the value .
