Mohammed Ali Bay Al-Abid
Mohammed Ali Bay Al-Abid (rear RTL محمدعليالعابد) (born in 1867, died in 1939) is a politician Syria N. He exerted the load of president of Syria during the French mandate of the June 11th 1932 with the December 21st 1936.
Biography
Abid was born in 1867 in the town of Damas, in Syria. His/her father is Ahmad Izzat Al-Abid, politician Syrian, old advised of the Othoman sultan Abdülhamid II. Abid has make its studies in Damas before continuing them with Beirut with the Lebanon. After having received its diploma, it leaves for Istanbul with its family to study with the Lycée of Galatasaray. It leaves then in France or it studies in a Faculty of Law. Then, he studies the Fiqh (Islamic right).
In 1908, one appoints it ambassador of the Ottoman Empire to Washington. But it returns in the Empire following the revolution Young person-Turks of 1908 who proclaimed a constitution. It then joined his father at the time of these voyages, in England, France and Suisse. Then, it leaves for the Egypt right before the First World War, where it will see his father dying. Thus in 1920, it decides to turn over to Syria during the French mandate in the country. In 1922, it is named by the general Henri Gouraud, Minister for Finance. He spoke the Arab , the French and the Turkish and adored the French literature and economic scenes. He was also good in English and Persan.
The June 11th 1932, it was elected president of Syria. In 1936, it resigns and decides to leave to live in Paris where it dies in 1939.
