Mohammad Hossein Behjat Tabrizi
Mohammad Hossein Behjat Tabrizi (RTL F محمدحسینبهجتتبریزی), whose pen name is Shahriyār (RTL F شهریار) was an Iranian contemporary poet of Azeri origin .
Born in 1906 with Tabriz, it studies the Couch of Hafez under the supervision of his/her father (it followed all his elementary school besides to the house with his father which was lawyer for Master). Its first formal education was followed to the secondary school Motahari with Tabriz then at the school Dar-ol Fonoun with Teheran. It gives up its studies of medicine right before its diploma to go in Khorasan, at one moment when it falls in love. It finds a work of notary with Nichapur then works then at the Keshavarzi Bank. It publishes its poems under the name of Behjat initially then changed then for Shahriyār.
Having studied the Couch of Hafez since its more young age, it had an interest very developed for this chief of work and little by little discovered its talent, its feelings and feelings enabling him to compose its own poems. The work of this poet initially appeared by the composition of tragic poems. The years passing, it composed of very many poems, until it finally succeeds in publishing a collection of poems of contemporary literature Persian.
Its first poem made up at age the seven years was in Azeri language, and second was composed at the nine years age in Persan. He also wrote a collection of poems epic entitled Takhte Jamshid (the Persan name for Persépolis) which reveals the fertile imagination of the poet. Shahri' yâr composed its poems by using various poetic forms: quatrains, verses, odes and elegies.
Heydar Baba , composed in Azeri and later translated into Persan is regarded as one of its major work. In fact, it is only its best book, but also the collection of Azeri Turkish poetry most interesting never published by Iranian. The book a long time among was sold of Iran. Heydar Baba is the name of a mountain where the poet passed part of his childhood.
Shahriyār also plays very well of the seh târ (an Iranian musical instrument with 3 or 4 cords, whose sonority is similar with the Sitar) and had a great interest for the music. It was also calligrapher. Using its fertile imagination and its creativity, it shows its significant poetic spirit through all its books. One can also feel an unquestionable inclination with the innovation in his work. The major part of its books are in fact of the words which can be sung. One of the reasons of its success is the simplicity of the words which it employs. Using its poetic talent to introduce Slang and Persan language running into its poems, its poetry can be included/understood by all. This is why the public finds its words familiar, comprehensible and effective. It is in this context that its poetry can be distinguished among the poets from his time.
He died in 1988, and is buried in a Mausolée which is devoted to him in the middle of a public garden with Tabriz.
