Mohamed Bacar
Mohamed Bacar was elected president of the island of Anjouan the March 31st 2002.
It was born on May 5th 1962 in Anjouan. Junior by large family, it carries out after his vat a formation with the naval college of Brest. Of return to the the Comoros, it is responsible for the gendarmerie. It carries out then various advanced training courses to the the United States or in France. Very quickly after the movements of insurection of the August 3rd 1997 of the island of Anjouan vis-a-vis the Islamic Federal Répulique of the Comoros, the Commander Bacar with the lieutenant-colonel Said Abeid Abdérémane take the operations in hand. The August 9th 2001, Said Abeid is drawn aside by a coup d'etat of the gendarmerie. Consequently, become the colonel bacar, it takes an active part and in full day in the political life of the island. It negotiates and obtains Azali Assoumani, directing Grande Comore, the revision of the constitution and a very broad autonomy within the Union of the Comoros.
The results of the elections of 2002 remain disputed.
