Mogollon
The culture Mogollon (pronunciation: “mogoillonne”) opened out in South-west of the the United States and with the north of Mexico, between the sixth century BC and the 14th century. It presents similarities with the close and contemporary cultures Hohokam and Anasazi. The reasons of its disappearance are obscure. The vestiges of this culture can be visited in the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument with the New Mexico.
Culture
Mogollons lived on an immense territory; consequently, they underwent very different natural constraints. They lived more products of hunting that agriculture (bean, marrow), without knowing the techniques of the irrigation. They produced a brown or red pottery, without painted decoration. They lived in half-sunken houses ( pithouses in English).
