Modibbo Adama
Modibbo Adama was a chief peul of the area the top Bénoué. It founded the dynasty of the emirs de Yola and gave its name to current the State d' Adamawa with the Nigeria.
Biography
Modibbo Adama was born towards 1770 with Wuro Chekke in current the state from Borno. He is the son of Ardo Hassan which began its religious education. He goes then to Birnin Ngazargamu, then capital of the empire Bornou, to finish his studies. In 1806 it receives a green flag on behalf of Shehu Usman daN Fodio for carried out the Jihad in her area of high Bénoué. It proceeds to many conquests to found the kingdom of Fombina. In 1838 it establishes its capital with Ribadu, then has Joboliwo in 1839, and finally has Yola in 1841 where it dies in 1848.
