Modern Talking

Modern Talking is a group German New wave consisted of Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders.

It is into 1982 that Dieter Bohlen (author/producing type-setter/) meets Thomas Anders (interprets) that it will produce in solo. After some titles, in German, whose resumption of Fr Favid ( Pick Up de Phone ) and of Real Life ( Send Me Year Angel ), the two men decide to form the duet Modern Talking during 1984.

Their first title " You' Re my heart, you' drunk Re my " quickly becomes one of the hits of the year 1985, announcing a beachcomber of international tubes. Between 85 and 87, it is not less than six albums which are thus produced. The group reaches the apogee of its notoriety in 1986 with the title " Brother Louie ", only individual ever entered the Chart S British.

Because if the group Modern Talking sells well, it is above all in the Eastern European countries, in Asia and in certain Maghreb countries, the public of the countries of Western Europe, except Germany, quickly wearying EC tube machine ground too well which did not know to take the turning of the musical novel modes. The tensions between the two men worsening, the group is demolished running 87, after an about sixty million sold discs. Dieter Bohlen assembles a new formation " Blue System " of which it with the perfect control since also endorsing the cap of interpreter. Thomas Anders starts a career solo in a style more " pop/rock".

With the general surprise, the former collaborators find themselves in 1998 to reform the duet which had made their glory and success is again with go since their album " Back for good " (a best off remixé) is classified among the best world sales of the year. Dieter Bohlen knows the receipts of a " hit" and to the letter for the 5 opus applies them following, but once more the European market, badly served by their recording company, is sulky them. The naturalness returning to the gallop, the two men end up separating during 2003 for the same reasons which had seen the end of the group in the Eighties: Dieter describing Thomas like a dilettante, Thomas reproaching Dieter his Despotism. Except their very first titles which were well classified in the Top 50, and those taken again on their return, the Modern Talking never caused a great enthusiasm in France. Often scoffed, the style " eurodance" , clean in Dieter Bohlen with quickly wearied the French public. It is true that the majority of the compositions of the group are limited to some basic and repetitive melodies, but which had known to make fly in their time. Modern Talking is par excellence the group which one says not to listen to, but which one sings the airs under his shower. Airs which were worth with the duet more than 120 million discs sold in the world.
