Modern Pinakothek DER

The Pinakothek der Moderne ( Art gallery of Modern art ) is a Musée located at Munich, in Germany. Four collections - painting, architecture, graphics and design - are joined together under its roof. The galleries are primarily dedicated to the Art of 20th and 21e century. The Modern Pinakothek DER form with the Alte Pinakothek (13th at the 18th century) and the Neue Pinakothek (18th-19th century) a gigantic complex museographic.

The collection

One finds there for example celebrates it " Still life with the géranium " of Henri Matisse and works of Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger, Juan Gris, Umberto Boccioni, Robert Delaunay, Joan Miró, Rene Magritte, max Beckmann, Lyonel Feininger, Oskar Kokoschka, László Moholy-Nagy, Otto Ten, max Ernst, Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dali and Francis Bacon.

One finds there also works of Die Brücke (the bridge), a group of German artists expressionnists trained in Dresden with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Erich Heckel, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Emil Nolde and works of Der Blaue Reiter (the blue rider), a group of artists formed as from 1911 in Munich and whose main actors are Wassily Kandinsky, August Macke, Franz Marc and Paul Klee.

The building of 2002 is the work of the Architecte Stefan Braunfels.
