Model of Gompertz
The model of Gompertz (or law of mortality of Gompertz-Makeham ) establishes that the Death rate is the sum of terms independent of the age (terms of Makeham) and of terms dependant on the age (function of Gompertz).
The terms which do not depend on the age are often negligible. One speaks then about the law of Gompertz , due to Benjamin Gompertz in 1825.
