Mode of pensions of Canada

The Régime of pensions of Canada (RPC) is a program of Social Security related to the income. It forms one of the two major components of the system of incomes of retirement subsidized by the Canadian State , the other component being the pension of the Safety of old age (SV). The intention of the RPC is to oblige all Canadians the 18 year old and more having one employment to contribute a portion of their income to the national program of pension. The mode is managed by human Resources and Canada social development for the employees in all the provinces and territories, except the Quebec.

History

The RPC is established in 1966 by the liberal government Lester B. Pearson. At the beginning, the rate of contribution is fixed at 1,8% of the gross incomes of a worker. With time, the rate of contribution quietly was raised and présenement accounts for 9,9%.

Mode of revenues of Quebec (RRQ)

The Quebec is the only province in Canada has not to take part in the Mode of pensions of Canada. The Régime of revenues of Quebec is the Québécois version of the RPC and was created in 1965.
