Mochihito
The prince Mochihito (以仁王, Mochihito-ō , so known under the name of prince Takakura ), dead in July 1180, was an imperial prince Japanese of the era Heian, third wire of the emperor Go-Shirakawa. He is famous for his role in the release of the Guerre of Gempei.
Biography
After Taira No Kiyomori prevented it from reaching the throne while placing there its own grandson Antoku the March 21st 1180, Mochihito called upon the old man Minamoto No Yorimasa, chief of the clan Minamoto and together, they made pass a call to the weapons with the Minamoto clan as with the Buddhist monasteries that Kiyomori had offended, asking a support against the Taira in the name of Prince Mochihito.Learning that, Kiyomori sends its men to the continuation of Mochihito, which had been withdrawn with the Mii-dera, to the foot of the Mont Hiei, but discovered that for political reasons the monk-warriors could not rest on the support of the other monasteries. Because of the intervention of a monk of sympatisant Mii-dera of Will conceal, it had to flee in direction of the Byōdō-in, on the other side of the Uji river, accompanied by some Minamoto soldiers come to his help. There, they what is called face to them Taira in the first battle of Uji, the June 23rd 1180.
To finish, they are driven back in the room of the Phoenix with Byōdō-in, where Yorimasa makes the Seppuku . Mochihito manages to escape in direction from Nara, but is captured in way and is killed shortly after.
