Mobb Deep

Mobb Deep , also known under the name of The Infamous Mobb Deep , is a duet of Hip-hop consisted of Havoc and Prodigy. Both are originating in Queensbridge, a district of the Queens (New York City) the United States located at the foot of the bridge connecting Manhattan and Long Island. They obtained an enormous recognition in the medium of the Rap especially thanks to their second album, The Infamous , which contains traditional “Shook Ones (Pt. II)”.

Biography

The duet Mobb Deep is composed of Prodigy also called Pee (born the December 2nd 1974 with New York) and Havoc (born the May 21st 1974 with New York). Resulting both from the famous district of the Queensbridge (in which Nas is also originating), they met whereas they studied art with the Graphic Arts High School of Manhattan. Dividing inter alia same passion for the Hip-hop, they form their group as of the 16 years age then sign on the label 4th & Broadway. From this experiment will be born in 1993, Juvenile Hell . Primarily produced by Mobb Deep, the album illustrated with the two teenagers armed with hâches, was not a great success. The first extract produced by The Alchemist “Got It Twisted” will be true a hit but will not allow the group to preserve its fans who find this album too Mainstream. Success is not with go and Jive returns the two rappeurs. Follow after one period of tension with the Littles and their management.

In 2005, they join the stable of 50 Hundred while signing at G-Links. The signature of the group at the label more the salesman of the moment is not finally a surprise (though Mobb Deep , on some mixtapes New Yorkaises did not hesitate to criticize their future boss , 50 Hundreds) insofar as they today are rather worried by the financial side of their trade. Mobb Deep will be on the republication of The Massacre, on planetary success “Outta Control (Remix)” in collaboration with 50 Hundred which will leave during to the re-entry 2005, while the second solo of Pee and the first of Havoc still did not leave. Their new album, Blood Money , left on May 2nd 2006.

The duet contributed to the B.O of the film Gangsta COP , of which the piece Quiet Storm in featuring with Lil Kim that one can hear in scenes of film.

Juvenile Hell left to 4th & Broadway, The Infamous , Hell One Earth and Murda Muzik left to Loud Records. Following some tensions with this label, Havoc and Prodigy create their own label, Infamous Record, on which the first album Pee and The Infamy leave, like some mixtapes. The group signs then at Jive Records and leaves Amerikaz Nightmare . Following the lack of success of this album, the label returns the group which will find refuge, to the great regret of the fans, to 50 Hundreds and G-Links Records, where Blood Money will leave.
