Mljet

The island of Mljet is a island of Croatia located between the island of Korčula and the town of Dubrovnik.

It is most wooded of the Croatian islands and even of the Adriatique with a very indented littoral. It is a classified island with the splendid natural framework Croatian National park for its Western part, that is to say 31 km ². Its vegetation is luxuriant, its wood extend to the sea and its fauna is also very interesting and rich.

On the island is two lakes, the Malo jezero ( small lake ) and the Veliko jezero ( big lake ), connected to each other and to the sea by a very narrow strait. On the Veliko jezero emerges another small island called small island of Veliko jezero on which a monastery of minor Benedictines was built (12th century), whose buildings are arranged today in hotel.
