Miyauchi

Miyauchi (宮内) is a city belonging to the town of Nan' yo in the Préfecture of Yamagata to the Japan.

Miyauchi amalgamated with Akayu and the village of Wago in 1967 to create the town of Nan' yo. Both Kanji which forms the name “Miyauchi” mean “temple shinto literally” and “inside”.

The temple shinto of Kumanotaisha (熊野大社) is one of the three large Kumano temples in Japan, whose origins go back to the 9ème century. Each July, the temple is the center of the attention of the festival of Miyauchi, when the omikoshi parade in the cities before turning over to the temple.

The park Sosho (双松公園, Sōshō Kōen ) habrite a festival of the pink in June and a festival of the chrysanthemum (菊人形祭り, kiku ningyō matsuri ) in October. One of the strong points of the festival is a series of human statues manufactured with local chrysanthemums.

The park Hygeia Onsen contains a small commemorative exposure on Isabella Bird.
