Mixed (department)
The Mella was old a department of the République cisalpine, Italian République, then Royaume of Italy of 1797 to 1814. It was named according to the river Mella, and had for Chef-lieu Brescia.
History
The department was created the November 5th 1797, following the entry in the republic cisalpine of Brescia. This one, then dependant on Venice, had proclaimed republic independent in spring 1797 at the time of advanced troops of Bonaparte in Italy
